Who are
the Knights of the Southern Cross?:
The Knights of
the Southern Cross (KSC) is a National organisation of Catholic laymen banded
together under a charter approved by the Catholic Bishops of Australia.
Our history and traditions
date back to our origin in 1919 in Sydney when the Knights were founded to
improve the economic well-being and standing of Catholics in the community.
Today our charter is much the same although
our emphasis is now directed towards instilling and maintaining Christian values
throughout Australia.
Branches operate in many Catholic Parishes
throughout Tasmania and membership is open to all Catholic men over the age of
18. Membership enquiries are welcomed.
Objects of the
Knights of the Southern Cross:
To promote the advancement of Australia
To foster the Christian way of life throughout the Nation.
To promote the welfare of its members and their families.
To encourage social and intellectual activities amongst its members.
To conduct and support educational, charitable, religious, and social welfare
work.

the Knights is the operation of Southern Cross Care in Tasmania providing aged
