What do we stand for?


The relevance of the Order today and in the future can be summarised as follows:-

 Community Relations

The Order encourages community awareness, education, and where appropriate, submissions and actions on current social issues such as family, homelessness, distribution of wealth, drugs, chastity, pornography, palliative care, abortion, sex education, euthanasia, racial discrimination, etc.

 Media Support

The Order supports the Catholic Enquiry Centre in its Australia-wide works. The Knights of the Southern Cross have also accepted responsibility for encouraging subscriptions to the Catholic Press throughout Australia

 Commitment of Members

 A member of the Order of the Knights of the Southern Cross is required to:-

  • Attend regular Branch meetings;

  • offer to contribute his talents towards furthering the Objects of the Order in his Branch area;

  • become involved with his family in Branch activities;

  • recite daily the Knight's prayer;

  • maintain his financial membership.

Social/Fraternal

Each Branch of the Order holds regular meetings providing opportunities for fellowship and spiritual development. Each Branch has substantial family social calendars and regular combined meetings with other Branches.
